Progress on track

Monday 23 July 2012

We share the latest milestones for the new Perth Stadium.

We are committed to providing regular updates about the progress of the new Perth Stadium, so the community is kept informed of key milestones along the pathway to the stadium opening.

To date we have announced a number of key design elements such as the stadium dimensions and capacity which are in keeping with the State Government’s desire to achieve a “Fan-First” outcome, and we expect to make a number of additional design element announcements in the coming months.

Work is currently being progressed on the precinct master plan, which is the framework that lays out the location of the new Perth Stadium, how it will complement the Burswood Peninsula and the Perth CBD and how we are achieving a focus on spectator enjoyment by putting the fans first.

The master plan is a key part of the new Perth Stadium “Project Definition Plan” or PDP, which defines the project timeline, budget and scope.

The PDP sets out how the new stadium will enhance Perth’s reputation as a world-class city with a range of entertainment options, and will be submitted to Cabinet in the coming months once completed.

With thorough planning, we are ensuring the new Perth Stadium will be completed in time for the start of the 2018 AFL season, and once approved, we will share the information with fans and the wider community.
